Hi, I am a new member to this forum...Hope to get to know you guys! Recently, I just bought a new accent 04...Fuel Consumption 1 Litre = 11.5Km. Is this normal? Please advise...Thanks.

That's about 8.7 litres/100km. That's not bad. You can get better if you keep your speed below 110kmph/65mph and make sure your tire pressure is always within ~1psi of reccommended. I can get around 6.7 litres/100km on my 99 (5sp manual though) and I do mostly highway driving. To measure with some accuracy, reset trip odometre at full, drive till nearly empty, fill again, record litres consumed and total kilometers, then: #litres/(#km/100)

Forgot that for our American friends, 240 \ (#l/100km) = #mi/ga. So a car that gets 6.7 l/100km equates roughly to: 240 \ 6.7 = 36 mi/ga. Just for those who are curious.
P.S. 240 comes from 60mi (per 100km) x 4l (per gallon). Rene |
