baffled....fuel related
okay car broke down did a fuel pressure test getting no fuel pressure
i replaced the relay still no dice then i dropped the tank and replaced the fuel pump and strainer last night still wont crank up my car is a 1986 ford thunderbird 3.8L if anybody can give me some helpful advice or possibly a wiring diagram for the fuel system please respond thank you |

ok on your car there is a fuel cut off switch i think it is in the trunk on the left side i looks like a button make sure it is pushed in if it is unplug it and jump the wires they are bad about shorting out (the switch) the fuel switch is for when you are in a accident i have seen them even trip when you hit a bump in the road let me know if i helped you ...........tommie99

if you found the inertia/fuel cutoff switch tested or bypassed it and it still wont work look at you battery and there is a black wire about 12 gauge wire(little diameter) that hooks up to the ground side.. thats your ecm ground and if it comes off everything will work except fuel--i have seen this happen many times due to battery corrosion
