2001 Accord Front Strut Tower Bar... Any Recommendation?ons

Hi,

Anyone out there that can give me some recommendations on a Front Strut Bar for my 2001 Accord? Does brand matter? like DC, Neupeed, and etc.?

And can you tell me what kind of improvement it will make on handling wise. I read and heard that it really helps on cornering and steering ... are there any down side to it?

thanks for all the help...

calvin

I have a Neuspeed front strut bar on my 2k1. With just the strut bar alone, you only notice a slight difference. However, in combination with other suspension mods, such as lowering springs or coilovers, the difference is more apparent.

Yes, I just lowered my car on Neuspeed Sport springs. Once the springs settle, I will have a 1.8'' drop. I have a sedan, but on coupes they only lower 1.5''. I did not require a camber kit and my alignment is still good. My ride is still pretty much stock quality which is really great. My car handles better and my suspension is a little stiffer.

AzNPrNcS69,

Very cool

Mine is also a sedan, but mine is white, the only thing i got so far is 4 Xenon bulbs, they are great :sun: !

Do those tires rub since you lower it by 1.8" ? I am thinking about getting some Ebach springs, i think they lower it about 1.5. and what kind of rims do you have on it now? ...any pics?

Get a Neuspeed 1 piece front strut bar. Karen doesn't have rims yet.:o but it doesn't matter cause she is

And it won't rub until you go either lower or wider rims/tires.

Nope, no rims yet. I'm still saving for some 18" Racing Hart M5's.
Your stock tires will not rub if you lower your car...ehh...unless you slam it, maybe.

keep in mind, the OEM sway bars are 26.5mm front & 16mm rear - Eibach & Neuspeed are 27mm front and 23mm rear Eibach & 19mm Neuspeed. Neuspeed has lower tie rod braces front/rear & it's upper tower brace is welded 1 piece & Eibach is assembled with bolts; solid pieces have better rigidity, look at Mugen pieces at 2x price.

To fit the Neuspeed Front Strut Bar you may need to jack up your car on both ends in order to place it directly over the bolts. The accompanying instructions explain everything.

Neuspeed sway bars are 27mm front (solid), 19mm rear (solid).
Eibach sway bars are 27mm front (solid), 23mm rear (solid).
Comptech sway bars are 27mm front (tubular), 23mm rear (solid).
Suspension Techniques sway bars are 23mm front, 19mm rear. i'm not sure if they're tubilar or solid, i think they solid.

Eibach sway bars in redesigning stage right now and should be on market by middle of march 2002.
i heard from peolpe who has Suspension Techniques sway bars, that they're not happy with them.

so i will talk about Comptech and Neuspeed sway bars.

just by looking those numbers, set of comptech sway bars will perform better. (this is my assumption)
Comptech front sway bar is not stiff as Neuspeed one (b/c its not solid), but rear one much bigger (stiffer) then Neuspeed. by having stiffer rear one and less stiffer front, will significantly reduce understeer.
but you can buy Comptech sway bars as set only, but Neuspeed sold individually. so you can buy just a Neuspeed rear sway bar and keep stock front, by doing that it will reduce understeer in comparement to set of Neuspeed sway bars.
