What Tool(s) Do I Need???
I need to change a wheel bearing (or two) on the front of the girlfriends car (90DX4Dr) this weekend and was wondering what tool I need to press out the bearing and press a new one back in?
Normally I would just change the whole knuckle, but I don't have the option this time (read, spare parts, time & money). Anyone help me out with a list of tools, diagram of the tools/or procedure, and any how-to's??...or anything? Thanks guys/gals... Jason

all you should need is a nice rubber mallet, use the small end to knock em out, and the rubber end to push it back in.

REALLY!? Cause someone on another forum told me I'm better off taking it to a shop because I need like a 50 tonne hydraulic press and the know how on how to use it???

pound the old bitches out, and use a bench vice to press new ones in, thats what me and my dad always do

i dunno i personally rather use my press, dunno bout all that hammering on a knuckle. but ive seen it done that way just take ur time dont want anything else happening.

you would be better off get a bearing press from say autozone or a parts place that rents out tools

Thanks for the advice guys...I might buy one of the presses in the future but I just called a Sears automotive center and they sid they'd do it in about a half an hour and charge me $27.50 CDN. All I'm doing is taking th knuckle off the car with the bad bearing, bring them that and the new bearing, then coming home and putting the knuckle back on.
I don't have access to my buddy's garage today...thank God it only going to be 0C (32F) today...actually got a nice day, instead of -35C (-31F) when I changed my altenator a couple of weeks ago. I'll let you guys know how it goes...thanks. Jason

Well, it didn't go as good as I'd thought...I couldn't manage to get the caliper off thus i couldn't get the knuckle off. So went down to Sears to see how much it would cost...they took it for a test drive and here's what they found it needs:
Left Upper Ball Joint Left Outer Tie Rod Right Wheel Bearing Right Lower Ball Joint UUUUUUUGH! Jason
