About a week ago my "Service " light on the dashboard went on.
This is when I found out that my daytime running lights werent on. The service light doesnt turn on automatically though. When its in park and i start the car, there is no service light. But when I go to put the car in gear... theres a clicking sound in the fuse panel by the door. I actually see the green daytime running lights icon in the dashboard flicker, but they dont go on, and following this the service light goes on. Also, my right headlight is dimmed, my left one works just fine. I tried replacing the bulb in the headlight, but that bulb was also dimmed. I thought the prob could be the "Relay" where the fuse panel is, since thats what the clicking noise is from....but just today i replaced it and the daytime running lights still didnt work. Any suggestions? Its a 2000 LS. |

Re: Daytime Running Lights
i have a 2002 ls sport and locate your BCM ( body controle module) its in yur drivers side kick panel locate that and pull the middle plug that is in there unplug it and and look at the second row...there will be two rows of wires, count 6 from one side and seven from the other and it will be a DARK blue wire pull it out and ground it then you should be able to fix that wrench....... it will also turn them off

Re: Daytime Running Lights
then your not getting power to your DRL relay. the power loss has to be between the switch and the relay

i'm sure you already checked it, but when i was wiring an 02's headlight assembly in my 96, i blew one of the headlight fuses and it made the side that's blown turn on but very dim like you said.

Re: Daytime Running Lights
The Same Exact (to a T) problem that Aries3685 described in the first message of this thread happened to my girlfriend's '02 Cav. last night. We took it to Midas and had the guys put it on the Computer. they said absolutely NO CODES showed up. He thought that it could possibly be a shorted out wire, or a bare wire somewhere due to it being a car that had been wrecked in the past. She drives long distances for work, and I'd like to get this fixed, doesn't seem to be a driveability issue, but it is annoying. Has anyone came up with a concrete solution for this yet? I have seen other threads on here about similar problems and a everyone seems to have their own opinion........i've heard Relay, but the boys at Midas checked it and said it was operating fine, I've also heard bulbs.....just don't want to go spending a bunch of money replacing things taht are not faulty.....any help is appreciated. thanks.

I had a similar problem on my 01. I took it to the shop, and it ended up the electrical wires under the battery had gotten acid on them and fried...

same thing happened to my 02 also. i just changed the headlight and it was fine. maybe try one more light, if not it's probably a bad cinnection between the power source and relay
