1999 corolla gas mileage drops
Can anybody help me?
My 1999 corolla's gas mileage all of a sudden dropped. I used to get 360~370 miles per 11 gallon of gas (highway+city driving) before putting new tires. After installing new tires, I am getting below 320 miles, sometimes even getting below 300 miles. I installed new tires of size 65-185/R14 instead of 65-175/R14. Is there anything I should replace. There is no check-engine light turned on. Thanks -Asir |

even though this is a supra forum, ill answer ur question.
it seems like u bought new tires that are bigger. ur old tires were 175mm and ur new ones are 185mm. bigger tires take more power to turn, resulting to more gas consumed. |

Re: 1999 corolla gas mileage drops
Why is this posted here again when there is a crappola section? Also your foot will detemine your gas milage, you may not notice giving the engine 5% more throttle everywhere but it will add up quickly.
