Whats this god aweful buzzing?

Just put another D15 into my 4door, (don't laugh, I needed a motor, and I needed it now) and now when I turn the key to the on position (not started yet) I hear this god aweful buzzing sound coming from near my fuse panel. Has anyone heard of it or know what it is?

Same thing happened to me when I did my zc swap. I'm pretty sure it was the main relay making the noise but it stopped when I found a ground wire that I forgot to hook up. The relay was fine. I'd say check all of your grounds.

Re: Whats this god aweful buzzing?

Ok, got that problem taken care of. Now I start the engine and at first it idled about 3000 rpm. Adjusted the idle and now its down to about 1000, but it runs smooth for a bit and then begins to choke. Also, its running very hot, no ciculation to the radiator. I'm assuming the heat issue is thermostat, but the choking? I'm thinking perhaps timing, but if I missed a tooth while switching the timing belt, wouldn't it not run at all?

Re: Whats this god aweful buzzing?

I should probably mention it only takes about 30 seconds to heat up enough I can instantly evaporate water off the exhaust.

Did you properly bleed the cooling system? A trapped air pocket can do simillar things. (heating)

Re: Whats this god aweful buzzing?

Got the crazy idle and surging taken care of. Leaky gasket on the intake (so dumb) Still have to check out the coolant system. Bleeding is that little nozzle just atop the coolant hose where it goes into the head, correct?
