1 ohm stable?

What would happen if I tried to hook up a Zapco 350 to a parralleled dual 2 ohm voice coiled sub? Would it handle a 1 ohm load or is it better off at 4 ohm? thanks

BTW its a 10 inch L7. The amp puts out 330 bridged at 4 ohm... and the shop set it up at 4 ohm, so Im thinkin thats the way to leave it. Maybe I should get 2 subs and larger amps since Im really just looking for more power.

check the amp manual...it should provide you with the lowest impedance the amp can handle. just remember though, a lower impedance will put more stress on your amp, so your still decreasing its life expectancy.

Re: 1 ohm stable?

No, leave it the way it is wired. That amp can't handle a 1 ohm load. And you are starving that sub the power it needs. They are recommended at 600 watts and you are only feeding it a little over 300. Get a bigger amp, I'm sure you don't need a second sub.
