Question rough ride

i have just purchsed a 2002 sierra gmc, and for some reason this truck rides rough. i put new shocks and tires thinking that was my problem. is there something else that i can do to smooth my ride on this vehicle. The truck only has 50k miles, please help.

Re: rough ride

New shocks, struts, dampners, etc, all have the potential to ruin your ride.
Also, if its a bigger truck (ie, dually, king cab long box, etc), it will be very light in the back, which will make the ride rougher; putting some cement blocks/sand in the back will smooth it out (my uncle uses a snowmachin in the winter; helps get traction a lot)
It would also be a good idea to go test drive a new one, as they are relatively unchanged since 2002. Your vehicle should not be widely different.
