Weatherstripping Problem?
Hello,
I have a '98 Firebird that leaks water into the cabin on the front passenger side. Whenever we have any significant amount of rain, water leaks onto the carpet under the plastic trim (where it flares out in front of the passenger side door). I have looked for the potential source of the leak but have not found anything (I had the dealer repair this same problem 2 years ago when it was under warranty, but do not remember what exactly they had to change). Has anyone else had this problem or may know what is the source of this leak? Any feedback is very much appreciated. Thanks. |

I have an 02 ws6 and ive already had seal problems. I took it to the dealership and they either replaced the seals and raised the door or just raised the door. Because the F body doors are so long and heavy sometimes they will slip down a little and the connection between the seals and the window is lost or not water tight. To fix it you have to adjust the door or have the dealership do it. Either at the hindges or the door latch. My windows are starting to leak again already.

Re: Weatherstripping Problem?
I have leakage in my car. (the real joy of t-tops) but hey, shit happens. you will probabley need new weatherstriping. wich is waht i need. it tends to be a common problem among f-body's ive found. not just in the t-tops, but the doors aswell.
what you should do is close your door, sit inside the car and have a friend pour water onto the spot you think to be leaking. then you will see exacally where it is driping in. and when you open the door the spot that is wet right through is where you problem lies.
