Angry Back speakers giving me troubles

Hey,

I've got a 2002 4 door sunfire, all stock. I was just wondering if anybody knew how to get at the back speakers becasue i've got a horrible rattle comming from my rear right speaker and it's driving me nuts!!!

Thanks

Justin

lay down back seat, remove big pushpins that hold down back window carpeting, you should be able to lift up gently on it and look under to see the 6 by 9's then there is a clip which you push i believe and you lift the speaker out. I'd recommend instead of replacing those speakers, upgrade your front end speakers to 5 1/4 and tweeters and run a sub in the back, much better sound quality, to hell with those 6 by 9's just un hook them

Re: Back speakers giving me troubles

Doh! I got back there on saturday and took everything appart to find out that may speakers had bent the metal clip that is supposed to be holding them down, i think i'll be getting that sub sooner than i thought because i can't get the metal bent back and now the speaker sits about 1 1/2 inch above where it should be resting....hard days.

Re: Back speakers giving me troubles

You can get away with using a pair of needle nose pliers. Just don't squeeze too hard.
As for getting rid of the 6 x 9's, up grade them.
I have the Clarion Pro-Audio 6x9's, 2 12" Clarion dual voice coil subs, Clarion 5-1/4 components with tweeters and 2 amps to run it all. Panasonic head unit from '00. Its the 700U. If you want good sound quaility don't be afraid of the price, you can hang onto your stock stuff and put it in on resale.
And a good sounding stereo has to have your mids and lows, which only 6x9's can give. My stereo ran me $2500 CDN. Don't be shy!
