Question Eclipse GT

I just raced a mid-late 90's WEclipse Gt. I was wondering what the hp/tq specs were on it? It seemed pretty quick off the line. We couldn't get up to higher speeds than 60 but I still had him by about 1 1/2 cars by then.

Do you mean a 2000 GT? Cause the GT eclipse didn't come out till 2000. Before that it was RS, GS, GST, and GSX. If you are talking about a 2000 GT Eclipse then it is a V6 3.0 liter engine, front wheel drive, with 205 hp and 205 lbs. of torque. I am not sure how much it weighs though. If you are talking about a 1999 or 1995 or around there, then the GST weighs 2800 lbs and has 210 hp (turbo). Either way you took down a fairly quick car. What year and what mods do you have? And did the GT have any mods?

Y-pipe, Cat-back, CAI. And I'm not sure if he had any mods. When I'm in my car all I hear is exhaust/Intake.

Re: Eclipse GT

for some reason they are only said to run just above 7 seconds 0-60 and almost 16 in the 1/4 even though they weigh just over 3K lbs

Before I got my 03 max last year, I had a 98 Eclipse GST for almost 4 years. That car hauled serious @ss! Stock it came with 210hp, but I had quite a few mods on it and before it was over, ended up at 286hp. Use to race it all the time and rarely got beat. You can definately mod out an Eclipse a lot easier and cheaper than a Maxima. I do miss the feel of that turbo and the handling, but I don't miss the fact that it was in the shop every 5-6 months.
I am happy with my Maxima, but I do wish I would've gotten the manual instead of the automatic. It still hauls @ss for being an auto though, especially for a 4 door sedan!
