? about my boost gauge

I just got my boost gauge and this may be a stupid question but every pic I see of someones gauge has the needle resting at 0. Well mine isn't plugged in or anything so I think that is the reason why, but it's just sitting all the way down to the right at 30 vac which I'm assuming it should do since it's not hooked up but all the pics I've seen of peoples haven't looked like that and been at 0 so I just wanna double checked I didn't get screwed. Also this is the Autometer Ultralight version...can I replace that crappy plastic tube w/ something thicker and not as crappy? lol

Re: ? about my boost gauge

mine sits at 0 when my car is off. when i turn it on, it shows vacuum pressure at between 20 and 17.
and boosts at around 14psi at wot.
before i installed it, it sat at 0.

sounds like yours is broken. where'd you get it?
i don't think there's anything you can replace the 1/8 nylon tube with. it needs to be solid so that there's no creases to give inaccurate readings.

I bought it from a guy, I just picked it up this morning. I'm going to email him to start bitchin and see if he'll give me my money back. If not then I'll try contacting paypal and see if they'll do anything. Other than that I guess I got fucked.

Edit: On 2nd thought I think I am going to try installing it today to see what happens when I hook it up and turn the car on and stuff then we'll see.
