I am currently looking at a set of Axis Maglite wheels for my 91 sedan. They are 17x7s with a +40mm offset, and I plan to run 205/40s if I get them..... Does anyone have specific experience with that amount of offset on a 7" wide wheel to tell me if that setup will rub (my car is/will be stock ride height).
I have searched and read other threads and really have not found this needed info. Please tell me what you guy know.. |

Re: Info on 17x7 wheels, +40mm offset, 205/40 tires
They will be just fine. That's the size mine are and I have no trouble at all. Make sure you keep 205/40's though. I had a little bigger and when I hit bups it would scrub.

I had the same size rims & tires on my hatch for a while. You definitely won't have any problems with rubbing if you're not planning on lowering your car. |

Just like another thread i have 205/40/17 tires on my 17x7 rims and im lowered about 1.5 inches. When my car was at stock ride height u have plenty of room.

205/40 on 17's? I run those on my 16's, I'd go for 205/35's if you're using 17's.

Why 35's...40's fit fine, at least on my car.

Way cool guys...
90civicracer, you have a nice sedan - hope mine looks that clean when I get the wheels on it. My sedan is dark grey, and the axis' are the graphite (basically dark grey too) color, so I think it will look good oh....90civicracer, does the EX have the d16a6 in it???? It would be a good conversion to swap out everything from an EX sedan to my DX. |

Ex has d16a6 sohc mpfi. Why switch all the ex stuff in your dx? I would just go for power windows and the a6. Axis maglites are nice as hell. I plan on getting some soon. When you get them on post pics so I can see!

35s would be rediculous on any bumps at all.
If your tires are going to rub, they're going to rub.. It probably won't have anything to do with the profile of your tires, but rather the offset of the rims. And +40 should be fine.. My 16s were 40 and they were good.

Not to mention that your speedo won't be off with 205/40-17's...
