engine swap
I was wondering which engine swap would be best for my 92+ civic hb. I want it to be reliable and is gonna be a daily driver. I'm thinking about 94+ LS motors w/ possible vtec head or turbocharging later, 94+ GS-R motor, or 99+ Civic Si motor. Any other suggestions?? Dont want to spend more than $4000. Which one is quicker??

For a reliable, daily driven motor, I'd go for an OBD-I GSR engine.

less than $4000.. you can get a B16A2 for $2500 or about $3500 installed
B16A2 is out of 99-00 Si's and some delSolVTECs Its 160hp and a blast to drive, plus gets slightly better milage and is slightly cheaper than a GSR motor. |

I'd agree with CivSiGuy. The motor is great, gets excellent gas mileage, and makes plenty of power. With a few bolt-on's in a 5th gen hatch, you can easily run low-14's / high 13's depending on which model hatch you get. I knew a guy that ran 14.2 with a CX hatch with a B16, Cold-Air, and Mugen ECU.
