suspension experts only

i have a 96 cav conv. ls. it had factory 15'' rims on it and i recently put the chrome factory 16'' from a 2002 on it. i see that there is not quite as much clearance in the wheel wells and was wondering if i could put a lowering kit on of about 2''-3'' on it now without any problems scraping or rubbing. thanks

Re: suspension experts only

I have a 1.75 inch drop on my 2002 LS Sport and there is still a descent amount of clearance for more of a drop...but any drop on stock struts is gonna result in a bumpy ride...

Re: suspension experts only

You can easily drop that car 2" without having issues. I have a 2" drop with 17" wheels and its got plenty of room, has never rubbed.

Your only problem is what your going to do to the stock struts, they will need to be replaced in no time because they arent designed for smaller springs. I have a full Koni setup which runs about $500US for the struts, plus your spring and installation costs.

The handling on stock struts will be much better, but wont last long. The handling on the koni suspension would be amazing, and lasts forever.
