UC: Revell Ducati 916 SP

Today I bought this kit, not many pics now. But I'll keep my gallery updated.

more pics here.

It's actually a reboxed Protar kit. It's very nicely detailed. All brake/fuel/etc-lines are included, working front & rear suspension. even a real chain! It's my first bike and I'm very impressed with it. Only thing I'm missing is a nice stand for it as seen on many other kits. it's only got a kickstand, so I'll have to do some scratchbuilding. That 'll be a first too. If anyone has some nice pics from EG their Tamiya 916 kit. Please post 'em!

I'm building it box-stock, without the 2 white planes on the tail.

Here's a pic from my Gallery. Tamiya 1/12 scale. I also built one as stock.

My chain isnt messed up, i just need to move the wheel a bit to straighten it out. Did you have to cut out the headlight holes too?

Re: UC: Revell Ducati 916 SP

I'm not that far in the build process. but I did mess up the hoses on the carburetors. nothing that can't be fixed.
And I started on the chain today. Man that's a suckey job! I had rather seen a chain shaped rubberband for that because melting all those little pins is bound to give a mess. some more pictures in 2 hours or so.

Re: UC: Revell Ducati 916 SP

it's 1/9 so it has more detail then a 1/12. But I've
The drawings in the plan are horrible, some parts aren't numbered. I've even seen a part numbered wrong. The paintscheme is all off. some engine parts are green!! See the part on the front fork that holds the front axle on jdmaccordian's pics?
The plan tells you to paint it the same color as the frame.
I can't get the rear-tire to fit on the rim, it's to wide.
It's got some terribly small parts that snap off to easy.
It's a nice kit with lot of detail and it a lot more challenging to built than the average 1/24 car.
Had I known the poor quality I hadn't payed 40euros for it.
