needless to say i love this kar and i cand pry myself from it, but now i need to mod it (heh need...) so i am thinking is it easier to mod the stock turbo ar buy a new one(found one for 1500 bucks but not carb legal in california so i dunno how big a risk that is)Also i heard that if i get moore powerful tur bo or up he boost ill need ne pistons and valves asl well how far should i really push the hp on a 1.8t?????? help me the driveshaft as well is a worry since it can snap if the engine puts out too much power either way how would you reccomend i start my carr of exhaust intake header combo or the turbo ecu thing?????????????? |

Re: MY NEW A4 5-speed
Start with a chip first, then maybe move to the exhaust and things like that. The 1.8 engine is really pretty tough, it can handle 250hp easily without any internal modifications. and that is with torque up to near 300lb/ft. So mod away! Don't forget that when you up the engine, it is good dto do the brakes and suspension too. Otherwise you end up with just a dragster and in dragster talk, 250 hp isn't very much. Audi's were made for the curves.
Have fun with it! |

Oh ya i meant obut the driveshaft because it is quattro and that is alot of torque to handle but are oyu serious i can just up the boost on my standard tubo(obviosly with exhaust and ecu) and the engine will handle it

Re: MY NEW A4 5-speed
Ya your good for 300hp on stock internals. I think the boarder line number is some where around 350hp. once you start getting over 300hp start thinking about engine internals.
