Carbon Kevlar
dunno how to spell kevlar, but anyone thought of the look one should see on a bonnet ?, carbon fibre is nice but when there is a dark colour dosent stand out enough, asside the fact i THINK the carbon kevlar would cost alot more.

Re: Carbon Kevlar
Kevlar is way heavier than cf, why would anybody want that? Army helmets are made of it..

actually I thought that ounce for ounce kevlar was stronger and lighter than carbon fiber, therefore less is needed to be the same strenght as carbon fiber.
thats worded horribly. hmm ok so say your carbon fiber hood weighs 16 lbs, to have a kevlar hood of the same strength it would only weigh say about 10 pounds. At least thats what I always thought. all numbers are coming straight outta my ass so don't start sayin a hood made out of kevlar is gonna be 10 pounds. oh and kevlar is damn pricey compared to carbon fiber. And the reason that say helmets and vests made from it are so heavy is because there is alot more stuff in them then just kevlar, and alot of layers are needed to stop bullets. a kevlar hood i'm sure would not make a good riot shield, haha because there would probably be only 1-2 layers. anyway if anybody knows for sure correct me. edit: by the way i believe Spoon makes a few kevlar things for hondas such as valve covers and stuff.
