Did anyone else see that concept bronco that is out? It was at the Detroit Auto Show, looks pretty cool. If you want to see it, it is on the ford website. It's a diesel and they had something about it having nitrous. But it is only a concept, and even if it did come out, I'm sure it wouldn't come with nitrous. Whatever, it's still cool.

Well, Ford claims to be looking for a platform to build a production version on. The concept was based on either an Escape chassis or a South American EcoSport chassis, depending on who you ask and what day of the week it is. Whichever one it is on is really insiginificant, as neither is a suitable platform for a production version IMO.

J. Mays said that everyone who is anyone at Ford Motor really wants to do a production version of the concept Bronco. But, it could take time to find a suitable platform that will allow them to price the vehicle in the under 20 thousand range they are aiming for, and that isn't likely to be replaced in the near future.

Mays said that he would prefer a body-on-frame chassis for the new truck, but that as of right now b.o.f. designs suitbale to this desing and in this price range are few and far between. The Ranger is old, and the possibility that it might get a full redo rather soon a redo hurts that frames chances. The Escape is not bof, but apprently they are considering that chassisfor the Bronco as well. I am still unsure of why they are not considering the new Explorer's basic chassis unless it is a price issue (and, it likely is)

The Explorer design is new, the suspension can be pretty easily changed into a killer off road suspension if they chose to do so (replace the through frame IRS with either a live axle or retooled IRS that fit under a modified frame) IMO, Ford needs to place the Bronco just slightly north of the pricing bracket they claim to be aiming for. If that's what it takes to make the new one as incredible an off-road vehicle as the original then it would be worth it.

I Saw The Pics Of It About 3 Weeks Ago And I Already Love It!!! I Own A 93 Full Size Bronco And Ever Since Have Become A Broncoholic, I Hope That Ford Decides To Put These On The Road. It Would Definitely Be My First Choice For A New Truck And Im Sure For Alot Of Other Bronco Lovers 2! Its The Ultimate Off-roading Truck, If You Havent Read About It Yet Go To Fords Site And Take A Look!!!

It looks ok but its engine is nothing. I think it should be powerful to not insult the name of the old Broncos.

I loved the look and the tough base line no frills idea of it, but if they build it on a front wheel drive chassis I wouldn't even consider buying it.
