Where can I find a pulley for my smog pump?
Hi all!
In reference to my other post, "Warpped pulley problem on 1991 Caprice Classic", does anybody know where I can buy a new pulley for the smog pump"? The other one wiggles and causes a lot of vibration. Is this difficult to replace? Thanks! -Ben pics at: http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/518022 |

Just replace it with a new one, mine went out about 3 months ago and my car runs much better with out it.

I replaced mine w/one from NAPA and it works fine. It's actually pretty easy to get to.

Why don't you guys just take off all of your smog crap? You don't need it.

Re: Where can I find a pulley for my smog pump?
That would be too easy...
Actually, the pulley is probably really ok, but the bearings and shaft in the pump are worn, which is what's causing the wobble. Get a pump (Pep Boys, Advance, Auto Zone, NAPA). It doesn't even have to be a new one. Transfer the pulley (it unbolts), and you're good to go. Let us know how it went |
