This sux.

Check this out. well my car was messed up, i thought it was the head gasket cause of what it was doin, well this weekend me and my friend were workin on my car, we got the head off then we noticed that i had a burnt valve. Then i remembered i still had a si head. so i threw that on and but the car back together and it was workin great, then all the sudden it started missing like hell like it was before we started workin on it, so i figured we burned another valve or somethin. So know i am figuring i just need a new engine in there. So if anyone has a d15 or d16 that doesnt need to be rebuilt and they want to sell it give me a holla cause i am tired of my car running like SHIT.

Well, we marked the timming before we took off the head and everything, and when we switched the heads we also switched the crank cause the other one was marked, so i know the belt is in the right place. The problem is that the 3rd cylinder isnt firing right, it is missing like crazy, i know the distributer is sparkin it because we took out the plub and it was still sparkin on the head. My ecu is throwing codes 10 and 14 which is the IAT sensor and the IAC Valve, do you think either of tose would be causing it, or do you have any other suggestions. I do have the timming advanced, but it was on normal when it did it last time, so i dont really think that has anything to do with it

Only missing on #3? You check that plug wire? It is much easier for the plug to spark in open atmosphere than under pressure in the cyl.

well, i had just changed the plug wires out last week when the problem started the first time, so i doubt it is them, i just put brand new plugs in it yesterday when we put it back together, i can check the plug later when i get home to see if it is burned up now, but i dont think that is the problem

maybe its your cap then.

try taking out the plug wire from #3 cylinder and holding it close to the block, if you see spark then your alright, and you can move onto checking the plug in there.

Well last night i took out the plug to #3, and it had a little bit of oil on it, so i cleaned it up and put it back in, it still wasnt workin right, but when i started my car this morning it had some smoke but it wasnt missing hardly at all, so i dont know if that fixed the problem, or i think the ring for the #3 piston are about gone cause how else could oil have gotten onto the spark plug??

Ohh, and i have checked the cap and it is firing right.

na, i replaced the valve cover gaskets and gromets(or whatever they are called. It seems to be workin right today, i think with that 1.6 head i just had to ride it a few days to let the valves seal right.
