93 Washed engine - now won't start.... help

Ok, I now know not to do this anymore- trying to sell it.... but need help.
It started up and ran really rough right after I washed it as I limped it home from the carwash. (about 1/2 mile) - Now won't start. It turns over fine (just put new starter in. No water or moisture in cap/rotor or plug holes. Battery seems ok - has juice & I tried to jump start thinking maybe I shorted it out a bit or drained it, but no luck. Alt Belt turns. Tried to test for spark and I'm not getting one. Its not turning over really fast so I don't think I've thrown the timing belt. Could I have shorted out the alternator or distributor or something else easier or is there anything else I should check for before I have it towed in for a mechanic to run elec diagnostic? its a 93 4 cyl AT

next time do it with the engine ON it shouldnt be any problem with it let it dry anyways
