Speedometer issue on Ford Taurus 1994

Hi

I would appreciate if someone could let me know the problem I am having with my Ford Taurus 1994 sedan.
When I drive faster than 110Kmph my speedometer needle shakes like a pendulum and also I could hear a hissing noise from the dash board. But if I drive at 100 or less there is no problems at all.

Thank in advance
Harold

Question Speedometer issue on Ford Taurus 1995

Hi Harold,

I do have exactly the same issue on a 1995 model. Did you find a solution?

Thanks for your help!

Michael

Re: Speedometer issue on Ford Taurus 1994

This is cute, my car does the same thing when it hits 115. but once you get to 120, it stops. I can't remember what the mechanic told me, but he said it's pretty normal for Fords to do it. Something about the way the engins sit in the car. -shrugs- just stop by a mechanics and they'll usually tell you what the issue is.
