what do you do?

I like being the first to post in new forums, so I'm doing it again, with a simple question: What do you do to stay fit?

I moved my refirdgerator into the attic, and my TV into the basement, so when I want to get a cold drink I have to walk much farther. Just kidding.
But seriously, in the summer I do ride my bike alot, especially when I'm too cheap to buy gas for my car.

I try to work out 3-4 times a week when I have the energy after work. Also try to run 2 miles a day. Switched from coffee to green tea in the morning. And basically just try to avoid eating worthless food. Although the 20 beers I drink on the weekend don't really help.

Hmm.. an interesting forum concept, it will probably get the least replies however.

I'm only 16, so diets and nutrition doesn't apply much to me.. yet. But I eat pretty well. Every once in a while I'll have a candy bar between 7th and 8th hour, a little snack. Also, I drink a mountain dew or orange soda for dinner every night

I walk home from school every day, except when its raining or snowing, thats when I catch a ride. It takes me about 15 minutes to walk home, a nice little cardio to get the blood flowing. When there isn't 4 inches of snow on the ground, I like to bike, to get some more cardio in. If its too cold, I usually run on the indoor track at the local community center, but I loathe running.

Re: what do you do?

Play Football (Soccer to you Yanks) more or less all year round, but I'm getting old and definitely are outclassed by the younger lot, so Social football is soon to be my doing.

Otherwise it's to the gym.

Re: what do you do?

I try to get to the gym most days. It helps that I’ve got a new job where there’s a gym in the building so I can go in my lunchbreaks. I find it much easier to get there having it on site.

Re: what do you do?

Well, I usually lift weights and such, but after doing some investigation in to a pain in my shoulder that wont go away, it appears I have a torn rotator cuff. Time to go to the doc and see whether I need teh surgery, which means no more weights for Jon.

I get some of my cardio chasing around my 22 month old son, also a weight workout of sorts, considering he weighs 36 lbs.

For the rest of my cardio, I try to get in at least half an hour each day. When I'm home, I have a so-so eliptical trainer/recumbent bike that does the job, or if it's nice enough out, I run around the neighborhood.

For weight training, the hotel I work at has a nice fitness center, equipped with Cybex machines, a Smith machine, dumbells, and tons of cardio equipment. I'm usually there at least three times a week. Some weeks I'll split my training by bodypart, and once in a while I go for a total body "punishment."

over built

I am 7'1" at 436 pounds. I worked out at one time 7 days aweek 4-6 hours a day (wrestling, power lifter). My trainer told me to cut back so my muscles could heal between workouts. Now I am down to 4 days a week weight training and 5 days a week Cardio. I run 10 miles on the cardio days, plus 1 hour in the Aerobic rooms. then off to the massage table.I have been training for 19 years and now I have to cut back. Most ladies find that I am over built so I have to cut back and find miss right. why is that the women I meet think that a person that works out, is a knuckle head? I have a college education and a very good entertainment job.

Re: what do you do?

I eat a row of oreos every tuesday and thursday while playing video games from 10 am to 3 or 4 pm (one class those days. College rules).
Aside from that i park in the farthest parking lot because they have the biggest spots.

I cannot gain weight no matter what i do . Take that fatties.

Re: what do you do?

I don't gain weight well either, makes me a natural pure climber for cycling, but still, not gaining weight does not = good health.

Why is it I eat better than most when i have the least reason to in terms of weight? Because I want to be better than below average.
