mods to my grand am?

This past summer i bought a 99 grand am se, i was never really into fast cars so i just wanted something that i could drive every day and in the winter and something that i could drive back and forth from college with. I live in mass and i was going to school in Maine so i didnt want something that would guzzle gas either. I'm home now though so i dont have to make the long drive and I really want to be able to blow peoples doors off. I dont race at a track or anything, im just talking about when im driving around. The only problem is i dont have enough money to invest in a completely new car because im still going to school. I just want to know what mods i can make to my car that wouldnt be extremely expensive that can make it as fast as possible.

Re: mods to my grand am?

well, www.gmperformancetuing.com is a start. um get exhuast ($500ish) nitrous ($500-600 for a dry setup) with those two mods you could run somewhere in the 14s. i really dont know alot of modds for your car. But alot of people that have that motor do CAI then port the intake manifolds (upper and lower) larger TB, motor mounts. but check out gmpt or even www.grandamgt.com

The downside to Nitrous is that you can only use it a few times then have to go refill the bottle. You also take a risk of doing damage to the engine.

You risk damaging your engine anytime you modify it. If you turbo it you can blow the motor up just as easy as spraying to much nitrous. You can get id say about 10 shots out of a tank before a refill. Just as long as your safe and know what your doing nitrous is cool.

also you should look at www.60degreev6.com
