1mfze in Mk1 MR2?

Hi everyone, I'm jess (and new...)

Anyway I've got an 1989 MR2 SC, and I love it. It's a real driver's car, but my engine has 185k on it. It's in otherwise great condition, and right now I'm looking at possible swaps for the future. I may very well find another 4agze, but I'm just trying to find out what my possiblities are (and don't tell me "with $$$, you can do anything" I'm not overly concerned about cost, but I want something that makes sense that isn't going to turn into something like the Northstar V8 project)

So far I'm thinking about the 1mfze (camry v6)... or the 2zz-ge (matrix XRS). I'd like to stick with a Toy engine, so that's what I'm thinking. I've looked around on the net a little and havent found lots of information, and now I'm hoping someone would shed some light and/or comments on this.

Thanks.

Re: 1mfze in Mk1 MR2?

well first off, Welcome to Automotiveforums!

second: OMG!!!! AN MR2 GIRL!!!!!!!!!

and finally, why not a 3sgte (especially if you're looking to do a lot of work) ?

or a 20v (as previously stated)
or even... a 20vturbo

just remember, the mk1 doesn't have a lot of room in the engine bay; you'll want to find something that fits and has a little room to move around.

Re: 1mfze in Mk1 MR2?

I'm not sure about the 3sgte. I was thinking about something a little more original. But anyway, like I said, I'm just looking at possibilities.

And i've realized that my biggest problem is going to be engine size, and the lack of space in the mk1 Oh well! it will be worth it in the end. It's really a project I won't really be looking into until at least next winter, depending on how my 4agze holds up.
