Ball Joints

How can i tell whether the upper or lower ball joint is bad on my 85 s10 on the front passenger side... and how much does it cost to have them done thx....

Jack up the S10 (on the frame) so the wheels are off the ground and hanging free. Take a pry bar and pry between the joint and the suspension, and look for movement. If they move slightly (very slightly) they are OK. More than that, change them. The cost will depend on labor. I had the bottoms installed on a '94 4x4 for about $200.

Thx a lot i need to replace the passenger side upper and lower ... they move about 3 inches..LOL thx a lot
