1990 Mitsi Galant - Why I hate it!!!
1990 Mitsubishi Galant Super Saloon
Here's the story, like a fool under the influence of a few beers I agreed to sort out some problems with a mate's car, it started intermittently having difficulty starting, then gradually got worse. You could drive it for a week with no problem starting, but when you had a date with your girlfriend or had to be at an urgent appointment it would puff and wheeze while turning over the motor and would actually be firing but not respond to accelerator when turning over. Finally at the end of my tether I started pulling things apart, and replaced the ignition coil, the leads (looked like it was tracking) and the fuel filter. The relay under the dash started clicking and hissing and it sounded like the fuel pump was continually working when the ignition was on. Next I removed this relay and the computer, re-seated the PCB inside the ECU, reseated the earth - click is gone however car still will not start AND I cannot hear the fuel pump anymore. At this point I have to wait for the battery to charge again but any ideas other than revoking friendship or driving car over cliff would be greatly appreciated. |

Check your ECU
there are 2-3 electrolytic capacitors which are easy to get and takes about 20 mins to replace.
Runs like new after that... |

Never fix a mate's car again, ok?
