Angry "check engine" light 97 areostar

My 1997 Ford Aerostar "check engine light" keeps coming on. I do not believe that there is actually and engine problem. I disconnected wires from battery and then reconnected. The engine light problem would only be resolved for a few days. Could the electrical recall of 99 cause/solve this problem? Any experience with this problem? Any suggestions? Help?

Got a 96 that seems to have a similar issue...but it goes away with a full tank of gas. I would love some more input on this myself.
