A 13b-rew from a FD RX-7 will not fit into an FC without custom motor mounts, and other misc. work.

Re: fc engine swap

Yup it fits! Its a lot of work though. I addition to an engine cradle you will need a custom thermostat housing and you willl need to cut and reweld the waterpump outlet too.

You will need a FMIC and a stand alone engine management computer. The stock one will be a bitch to wire in and not worth the trouble. A TII tranny bolts up to the FD engine you need to use an FD flywheel and a FC clutch. The bell housing need to be shaved on the inside to clear the FD flywheel.

I have a FD engine in my TII. It was a lot of work but its quite unique. It makes lots of power w/o pushing it very hard, I am still tuning my engine. I have, right now, 290rwhp @ 10 PSI and we expect close to 400 to the wheels at 15 PSI. This will be a very conservative tune BTW. So I expect this setup to last a really long time w/o any problems.

Re: fc engine swap

Click on Garage profile in my sig. Keep in mind I spared no expense everything on this car that could be purchased brand new was done up.

ECU for example I could have went for a Wolf3D system for $1500 instead I spent close to $4500 for a Motec setup and I am not done I plan on adding a Stack unit (ADL) to it this summer. Stack unit = $3K.

Pettit Rebuilt on engine cost $4700 plus I had the tranny rebuilt to racing specs and the rear rebuilt neither the tranny nor the rear needed to be rebuilt I chose to make sure they were up to the task at hand I Autocross it and do open track days with it so I wanted it 100%.

I could have bought a used Viper of Z-06 for the money but they would not be as fast or handle as well. Plus I love the sleeper factor. Well, for now I am waiting for delivery of an RE hood and front bumper.
