Grounding Kit Question

I have a 93 sol with a JDM b18c in it. I wanna buy a grounding kit from Nology or someone close to that...My question is ...would i buy the kit for a DOHC VTEC model or the GS-R....cuz for the intake i had to buy a VTEC model intake.

I was readin up and with a Skunk2 IM and The wire kit ...its been provin 16-19 HP.... so i wanna check it out.

I personaly think it is a scam and a waste of money, but that is my and yes the Del sol VTEC kit is what you need to get.

You'll probably gain some HP with the intake manifold, though I doubt it will be nearly as high as they claim. The grounding kit won't really do anything over the stock grounds though.

If you want to do it anyway, get it for the VTEC del Sol.

There's a number you're supposed to look at ( i can't remember) but it is how many wires are around the outside of the wire- because electrons travel on the outside- therefore a bigger number is better. And YES they are better for your car. Even 2 HP, they are only like 40 bucks or something, so it's a cheap upgrade.

What you are looking for is the number of individual strands of wire that make up the whole cable.

for instance, a normal 4gauge wire could be made up of only ~100 strands of 22gauge wire. High quality 4 gauge wire would be made up of over 4000 strands of 32 gauge wire.

Electrons travel on the surface of the wire, so the more individual wires the more surface area and the more current it can pass.

a wire of 4000 strands of 32 gauge or thinner wire has considerably more surface area than say, a 4 gauge wire made up of 120 strands of 22gaugue wire.

Where i work we print up Drag magazine and a couple issues ago they tackled the hype of hyperground wire upgrades.

On older cars with bad grounds and corroded cables, it made a big difference. In fact I think it was one of the better things to do to your car. Newer cars though, still have the great factory ground conditions and will have little performance increase.

I personally think that if you took a car that still did its stock rated HP, and added ground wire upgrades, it would make little difference in getting up and over stock performance. However if you have an older car that has been loosing some HP, changing corroded ground cables and wirebrushing its tie-points will bring HP back to stock levels
