Stock Gs(or RS) vs a Civic vtech

I am planning on buying a Gs or an RS soon, and I have a friend who has a civic *(not sure what year or model, I know nothing about Hondas) with a vtech wich is all stock. He took me on a ride with it and it seemed pretty quick. He told me he wanted to race when i got my car. Who would win therioretically(sp)

honduh aint got no torque. which means you will carry more power later in the rpms with each given gear. so he will be shifting 3rd and you will be pulling 2nd. i think

All I know is that I drove in my friend's 1998 Civic EX w/vtech (do all EX's come with vtech? anyway) and it felt much slower than my 97 RS.

I mean the vtech was fun in a way, but it would just be too weak due to the lack of torque.

I was just asking a question. Do you think I am some noob because I dont know the model of his civic? I was asking in theory wich car would most likley win 1/4 mile. Fast and furios must be your solution toevery thing. Why not tell me to add some neons too for extra horsepower. As far as I belive the civic is an EX maybe, It hasa vtech I know that for sure. I read online somewhere that an EX has 127 hp and Im not sure about the tourqe. i know the neon engine has 140 ish hp

neon engine is 132. RS is 140. EX is 123 or 127

It's called VTEC It's an acronym, not 'tech'. If you are going to race him, who cares what we say will happen. DO IT

since I havent gotten the car yet I cant quite race him.In the mean time I just wanted to know if it would be a close race or not. I dont really care how Vtec is spelled because I am not caught up in the whole hondas rule the world scene.but none the less thanks for the correction. Is that true the civic will be shifting into 3rd while the eclipse is still running 2nd. How many hp is the baby phone good for. can we port and polish it. mount that baby in the engine bay, itll get all the chicks.

whoa dude. slow your roll. WTF are you talking about? chill out your tone. that was merely an afterthought, and had nothing to do about you being a nOOb. i'm sure you could have put the search function to use a little better, but if you are like me, you want current thoughts from live peeps now. right? IMHO, DSM will rule Civic VTEC. Civic is designed to be a commuter, reliable, gas efficient car that a young woman can pass on to her child, when she gets pregnant, has a baby, and raises him for 16 years. Eclipses are sports cars, made for the 'more than commuter' driver looking for a bit more excitement. just go from there...

the VTEC thing is just general info so you don't take it the wrong way. and i got the baby phone hanging off my mirror, extrude honed, and chromed of course, with a GReddy sticker on it. the sticker gives the phone about 10hp to the speaker, and that in turn took .45 seconds off my 60' time

what does the Vtec stand for. I heard it is like some kind of system that kicks on at high RPMs. Is it like a supercharger or somthing. Agian I know nothing about hondas
