1999 front wheel broke at bearing 84K

Last night I was pulling out of a parking spot with some friends and I felt a sudden clunk sound, thought it was a chunk a ice I ran over, car then felt like it tipped to the right, got out looked at the right front wheel and it was broken at the bearing it was pushed up into the wheel well, thank God I was just backing up and not going down the expressway at 65 mph, that would have been a real problem, the car has 85K miles on it I had it in Seattle for 2 years, so it's not like it has been in rust all the time, it is very scarry, to think of what could have happened, check your front bearings these are the greaseless kind, the repair is going to cost me over 1000.00 because when it fell down it also smashed the bottom of the radiator and it pushed that into the fan, I am very mad about this but also feel lucky, anyone else had any problem like this?
