I have a 2003 VW Passat Wagon where the transmission pops out of gear and into neutral. This happens most often when you are going down-hill and are off the gas (using the engine to brake).
I've taken the car into VW service and, of course, they said "That's normal, they all do it". Which is exactly what I expect to hear when there is a hard problem they don't know/want to solve. Now, it *could* be real. Does anyone else have this problem? Better yet, is there a fix for this? Thanks! Last edited by boykin; 02-06-2004 at 02:42 PM. |

Re: Help! - Passat Clutch Pops
It definitely is a problem, hopefully it's just a linkage problem but most likely it's internal transmission. Is there another VW dealer nearby? I'm not sure I would want the one you talked with to touch it. If you have to deal with them get VWOA involved, or ask to talk with a factory representative.
