Possibly pulling teeth off belt?
Hey guys. My JDM h22 vtec, i think is tearing teeth off of one of my belts. The problem is i don't know what the belt is called or how to change it. Its one of the belts on the driver side. I'm not really good on lookin through the search to see if anyone has this post already, but if someone could give me a general idea of how to take it off w/o me losing a hand, that would be great. Even if u know just a little...please help!

Re: Possibly pulling teeth off belt?
the only belt that should have "teeth" is the timing belt, what led you up to the conclusion that a belt is losing teeth?

You might want to consider replacing that before something serious happens.

Re: Possibly pulling teeth off belt?
if he is watching this belt it must not be the timing belt... must be an accessory drive belt

Re: Re: Possibly pulling teeth off belt?
Unless he has the timing belt cover off which would cause debris to get in there & tear up the belt. All the belts are on the driver side so you need to be a lot more specific.
or consult a manaul or have some one look at it for ya. maybe you can find something here : http://www.icelord.net/honda/repair/ Hint: while working on belts do not have the engine running, then you have no worries about your hands. Also disconnecting the negative battery while working on the car is a good idea. |
