Rattle Coming from the front

I have had this soft rattle coming from underneath the front of the vehicle. The sound is clear when rolling over soft but continious road bumps at approx. 20-30mph. I also can hear it when driving slow(5 mph)and going hard left then hard right on the sterring wheel.

Does anyone else have a similar problem?

Re: Rattle Coming from the front

Hey, sounds to me like u found that lil gremlin that everyone else has known as that darn heat shield. Nissan put really crappy heatshields around the exhaust pipes most of which do nothing at all and rattle just long enough for u to go insane. Stick u head under the car and have someone step on the gas, if u see it rattling and welds look like they are rusted rip it off u don't need it. same problem with pathfinders and frontiers

Rattling

I had a simular issue and took it to the dealer to diagnose. I think it was there 4 or 5 times before they found the problem. The dealer lubed the whole front end (suspension related) in micelanous spots different times. They also went as far as replacing a shock. The problem ended up being the rubber bumpers that the hood rests on. The 2 fronts that are adjustable, the 2 in the middle, and 2 in the rear. They were causing a rattling, when going over bumps and the hood shaking on them which sounded like the truck was falling apart underneath. They proceed to lube them up with grease and now the noise is gone. Try this first, I am not saying this is the problem, but I would check. I couldn't believe it was such a simple fix.

I think I have the same problem. Only I just bought my 2003 Xterra (w/1,500 miles on it). This seems weird as it is basically brand new! The older couple who had it before bought in Jan '04 from the dealer. Any recommends?
