I am looking at a 02 Silverado, opinions please...

It's a 2002 extended cab Silverado-60,000 miles, power windows & locks, 5.3L engine, CD, tape, nice truck.
The asking price is $16,752. What do you think about this price and miles for a '02???

Thank you for your help.

Also, are these trucks pretty reliable, around how long should they last.

Try http://www.edmunds.com
orhttp://www.kellybluebook.com
You can enter mileage, year, color, accessories, etc. and they'll give a free price estimate, including trade in value, dealer and private seller price. Hope this helps.

i dont think that seems that bad of a price i got my 2000 gmc sierra Z71 in 02 for 16,000. it is fully loaded, fiberglass bed cover, bed rug, 5.3L and it had 62,000 mile on it.other then replacing the yoke that slipped i havent had a problem with it at all. i love it i have 86,000 on it right now most of the miles have been ragged on. i'm 19 and stupid.

These are great trucks! The '99s and 2000s had some quirky litle problems, but I think GM is getting them ironed out somewhat, probably nothing worse than any other truck.

A buddy of mine has a '99 Z71 that I sold him with 23,000 miles on it and he's got 187,000 miles on it now, with no major problems.

My nephew has another '99 Z71 that I sold him with 32,000 miles on it and it now has 132,000 miles on it. He did however put a tranny in it at 120,000 miles or so and also a fuel pump (typical), but for 100,000 miles of use, I don't think the repairs are all that bad. He probably uses it a little harder than the other fellow.

The price seems fair and in the ballpark, if it's as nice as you say.

Go for it!!

I have a friend who works for a Chevy dealership and he told me that he hardly ever sees a Silverado come in there for anything other than routine maintenance.

The price seems fair but I would definatly have a car report done on the truck to see if it has been totalled, in an accident, or is a stolen recovery.

Good Luck and post some pics when you get it.
