My great little car has developed a tranny fluid leak that appears to be comeing from the front of the engine.I'm aware of the lower spoiler that travels a good way back.May be dripping on that and running back.Is there a tranny fluid cooler ???Dunno why fluid would be directed to the radiator area?? Thanks for any help guys....& Gals... Been great car 368,000 miles. |

1 are you sure it is the transmission can you check the fluid? I know the newer cars like mine do not have a dipstick for the transmission. check all fluids including power steering reason i say that is because mine uses transmission fluid it might be that if yours has the same type of fluid maybe its your oilpan?? hard to say you may have to take out the plastic shield and investigate further

Re: 2nd post.. 1987 325i leaking tranny fluid from the front???
There is a tranny fluid cooler on the automatics..im not completly sure about the standard. it also could be power steering fluid if someone used dexron type fluid in there..place some cardboard under the engine when you park it and see where the fluid is dripping from
