Hello,

You don't need to be a subscriber to alldata.com to obtain the Technical Service Bulletins (TSB). Just punch up their web site and click on the appropriate links.

I've pulled up and printed out the lists of TSB's for both my 92 and my 03 Camry; no problem at all.

What?

The tsb titles are free to look at but you cannot see the actual report unless you pay for a subscription. I dont know what you are talking about? Can you be more specific?

Emission TSBs

Ok, I have retreived two codes from my 98 Camry
They are P0441 and P0446

Looking through Toyotas TSBs I have found them in the following;
TSB Number Issue Date TSB Title
EG013-02 JUL 02 Emissions System - MIL ON/DTC's P0440/P0441/P0446 Set
EG003-98 APR 98 MIL ON - DTC P0441, P0446 (EVAP Control System)

Seeing how this is only a TSB I do not like my chances of going to Toyota and asking them to fix it for me free of charge.

Re: toyota camry TSB's

mm1997 El008 refers to the factory installed versus dealer installed wireless transmitters programming options for various toyota models.

BO13 refers to a new fuel door hinge spring and fuel filler shield. Apparently, some wouldn't open on the first try. New spring #77360-33020 old spring 77360-22020

Re: toyota camry TSB's

EG013 refers to the shifting improvements to the U140E transmission through a new ECU calibration #53310200 which supercedes 53310100. It's for 6 cylinder Camry's from 2002 on.The op code is EL1015 "recalibrate ECM" .5 hour. Falls under Fed Emission Warranty in effect for 80000 miles or 96 months from vehicle in service date.

EG003 "Readiness monitor drive patterns" is 23 pages of monitor testing programs and patterns for various toyota models. It covers EGR, Catalyst, ECM, O2 sensors and air/fuel sensors and EVAP systems.

P0441 can be the result of debris in the Evaporative Emission Control System. This may cause blockage of a vapor line or a stuck VSV

Re: toyota camry TSB's

Emissions System - MIL ONIDTC's
EGO 13-02
Title:
M.LL. "ON" P0440, P0441 & P0446
Models:
Camry & Solara
Under certain driving conditions, some Camry and Solara vehicles may exhibit a M.LL. "ON" with DTCs P0440, P0441 and P0446 stored due to an inoperative Vapor Pressure Sensor 3 way Vacuum Switching Valve (VSV). An improved Vapor Pressure Sensor VSV has been developed to correct this condition.

Previous part #90910-12 09 Current part #90910-12271

PART NAME Vapor Pressure Sense. VSV

Thanks for the reply csaxon;
However the SBS that I got from www.alldata.com concerns a 1998 Toyota Camry CE 2.2L 4-cyl not a V-6.
It reads
EG013-02 JUL 02 Emissions System - MIL ON/DTC's P0440/P0441/P0446 Set
and
EG003-98 APR 98 MIL ON - DTC P0441, P0446 (EVAP Control System)

The check engine light came on due to the fact that my dad overfilled the gas tank. I just wanted to know if Toyota would take care of this issue without any hassles.
If they will not be able to resolve this free of charge then I will have to run some tests on the EVAP system and fix it myself.

Re: toyota camry TSB's

I'm looking at genuine toyota tsb's. You're correct I used ego 13 instead of 13-02. EGO 13-02 covers all Camry's and Solara's from 1998-1999 and covers procedures to check, fix or replace the VSV with the new model number I mention above. The defective vacuum pressure sensors VSV's were causing the erroneous DTC's PO440,441 and 446. It was also noted that the vacuum hoses were defective by being malformed in the production process. The toyota op code 178011 is for 4 and 6 cylinders cars. I looked at the Alldata list for the tsb and it references a 98 4 cyl camry but the actual toyota TSB is nothing like the alldata version. Alldata tries to generalize and simplify the problem repair procedure. The actual tsb for testing these things is 23 pages long and relies on the Toyota tester. It shows graphs, expected readings and test setup procedures. Your probably out of warranty but you can check the hoses and part# of the vapor pressure switch vsv.

Re: toyota camry TSB's

This is the alldata version. It is very general and the ALLDATA subscriber specified a 1998 Toyota Camry CE Sedan L4-2164cc 2.2L DOHC MFI vehicle. The actual toyota tsb is far more indepth and covers all vehicles affected not just a 98 camry ce, note the 6 cyl avalon below. Note also that the original toyota tsb mentions a new part number, the malformed hoses and far more actual testing data

MIL ON - DTC P0441, P0446 (EVAP Control System)
ENGINE
EG003-98
April 3, 1998
Title:
EVAP SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS: P0441 / P0446
Models:
RAV4, Tercel, Paseo, Camry, Avalon,
Tacoma, 4Runner, T-100
Introduction
The following procedure is recommended for repair of MIL "ON" conditions involving confirmed DTC
P0441 and P0446.

. . MIL ON - DTC P0441, P0446
(EVAP Control System)
.
Notes
- All RAV4, Tercel, Paseo, Camry, Avalon, Tacoma, 4Runner, T-100 that display codes Vehicles
P0441 or P0446.

A. Diagnostics for PO441:
1. Remove Vacuum Hoses between EVAP VSV and Charcoal Canister and discard.
2. If there is a metal vapor pipe between EVAP VSV and Charcoal Canister, clean inside of vapor
pipe
3. Replace EVAP VSV and Charcoal Canister assembly with new parts.
4. Install new vacuum hoses between EVAP VSV and Charcoal Canister.
B. Diagnostics for P0446:
1. Inspect vacuum hoses and pipes between EVAP (Purge) VSV and Charcoal Canister for leaks.
2. Replace Vapor Pressure VSV and Canister.
NOTE :When performing diagnostics for an occurrence of a MIL "ON" condition, Diagnostic
Trouble Code (DTC) P0441 may be result of debris in Evaporative Emission Control System. This
may cause blockage of a vapor line, or a stuck VSV, as described in troubleshooting area of Repair
Manual.
