Arrow Guess the power

Take an 86 3SGE engine (stock ~130 hp)with the following:

Aftermarket pistons, crank, timming gears, cams, headers, fuel injectors
cold air intake, duel exhaust, and a port and polish

Estimate what you think the horsepower would roughly be after all of that

Re: Guess the power

pistons 20hp, crank 5, timming gears 10(if adjusted right, if wrong then you will lose more power than you gain), cams 5-15(depends on cam profile), headers 5-15 depends on style and size of header, fuel injectors (no better unless you upgrade the rest of the fuel system), dual exhausts will make you lose power, port and polish 5 hp.

so lets see maby a 70hp gain, most likley less but you could do 200hp @ the crank.

All figures were pulled out my ass

Re: Guess the power

NAW wish i did tho. Looking to sell the GSX and S2K to get it

Would be tight, and i have always loved the FD and now that i have the monwy and knowledge to own one i think it is time to get one

Also, i posted those numbers based on a perfect running engine. This means that you cooling system is in perfect condition, oiling system, electrical system, properly tuned for all the parts, gererly a perfect engine. So yes, you would be VERY lucky if you hit 200hp with that stuff.

But do it and see what happens, hell i may be wrong. Maby someone will post and has had that tipe of setup and has acheived good numbers. Who knows.

Good luck with it tho.
