Please help! Troubleshoot my prob...
My car will run for a short period of time, sometimes 2 mins, sometimes like 5-10. Then it will turn itself off (whether im riding down the street at 40mph, or its sittin in my driveway) and wont start back up again for about an hour... (It always starts back up eventially though, and the process is repeated) The car will turn over as long as I have the key turned but it won't catch. I tried putting in a new fuel filter, and my radiator had a crack in it, but i replaced it. These were just the only 2 things I could think of doing relatively cheap and easy. If anyone has any ideas please please help me, I need this car back on the road! I've been told maybe fuel filter? and maybe its the ignition coils heating up? I'm not a gear head so I need help!!!!!

Pull your plugs out, reconnect them to the plug wires, and have a friend crank the engine.. check to see if they all have a spark. If your car is fuel injected, pull out the injectors (still connected to the fuel rail though) and put a pail or something underneat while checking to see if they spray fuel. Is it possibly overheating? I mean it could be a lot of things.. Try that and let me know.

I don't have a friend handy to check the injectors right now, but the plugs are all firing... I was told b4 that it could possibly be an overheating problem, but with the new radiator I don't see how that's possible, especially in only 2-3 mins sometimes... If it is the injectors then I will just give up trying to fix it right now because I am going to be buying a d series longblock... I would just like to have something to drive around until the swap is complete.... Does it sound logical that there is a problem with the ignition overheating?

Well if it overheats (I'm not a mechanic, but no I've never heard of that) then you shouldn't be getting a spark right? And you're getting a spark.. unless you tested them cold? Try testing them right after it dies.
