I have a 1985 w/automatic and a 1986 w/manual. Does any one know if I can replace the automatic with the manual and have it work.

Thumbs up

Hey I have a 88 that had a automatic tranny in it that was blown....It can be done. What you have to do is remove the automatic tranny and the shifter from the floor. Remove the brake peddle..what i did for this was reomoce the hole assembly for bolts under the dashbourd.....remove the flexplate and everything that deals with the auto tranny....there is a pannel under the hood by the wire harness that comes through the firewall that you remove as well and a plug....that is for the clutch....and then do the same from the one that has the standar tranny and install in the other van.....You have to use the drive shaft from the van with the standard too...for it is longer than the auto drive shaft......It took me two day's to change mine over but i think it was worth it...
