I see that they were surprised, but just out of curiosity, how in the hell would they know how much horsepower it had? I mean unless they stopped the kid, it looked like he just kept on driving...

after watching the hatch part a couple times, it put on its brake lights when it had 1-2 cars on the evo...that thing was haulin ass man! maybe not 500 but certainly in high 300's to possibly mid 400's.

those races were very impressive. i love the evo and the srt-4 is awesome, so i practically shit myself when i watched the video. the evo was great and i was so happy to see an even match-up between it and an srt-4. i don't want some bs srtvids.com piece that has a 500hp neon and a stock evo. glad to see this video posted.

Yeah this is about the most equal race i've seen. Its funny when they keept gaining and losing their leads depending on who had the better power curve in that particular moment.

BTW what really awoke that EVO was that ECU reflash. Stock evo's despite the high 7000+ redline tend to die after 5500 rpm since their 19psi tappers off to 16 and the car goes rich off the scale. A flash or a piggy back solve that very fast though.

The srt4's ECU on the other hand its about as advanced as it gets now. Its practically an ODBIII and it doesn't even have maps. It constantly monitors all the variables to calculate A/F and spark based on all the normal variables plus altitude, weather, and even driver intention. I think an overlooked part of the srt's power is the ECU.

But the hatch smoking them both its priceless. Its nothing like having two powerful cars duking it out and out of the blue comes a third one that just blows by them.

wow the evo actually stayed witth the srt on the highway, i thought the evo would fall flat on its face after awhile since it has awd, but i guess with its awd system sending most of the power to the rear wheels, and especially with that ecu thing, it helped it keep up.
