best audio brands

I'm looking into puttin a new system into my car, cause they stuff i have in there is junk. I just want it as a every day driver car, kinda on a budget(not cheap), but don't want the very high end or low end stuff. If you were buying a system, what brands would you want to buy or prefer. I'm talkin head unit, amp, mids, tweeters, the works. Thanks

For speakers click here (could have been done by looking around in this forum first )

As for other stuff, my personal preferance for headunits is Alpine, Kenwood or Pioneer. Sony is CRAP. Clarion I haven't heard much of. I think Eclipse has some decently priced low end stuff, they are a little bit more expensive than your typical Crutchfield catalog brands. Nakamichi is also good I hear. For amps, I prefer JBL, Alpine or Kenwood. Kicker and Rockford are also very good in the amp arena.

The system in my car consists entirely of Infinity Referance speakers (fronts, rears and sub), my sub is powered by an Infinity amp (European only model) and my main (front and rear) speakers are powered by a JBL 600w 4-channel amp. My headunit is an Alpine along with an Alpine CD changer. Basically solely only an Alpine and Harman Int'l system.

Re: Re: best audio brands

i have 2 12 inch kicker compvr subs and am getting a directed audio 600d amp. infinity probably has some of the best speakers for the price and i would say the best headunits are alpine, this will be my system someday.

Not to knock on what you are selling there, but Fosgate and Kicker are NOT cookie cutter brands. They may have low models, but those are the brands award winning SPL winners use. Those brands also have many of awards to back up their products. My JBL amp isn't a cookie cutter by any means either. It's co developed and designed by Crown Inc. who if you know much about audio, they make some of the worlds best concert grade amplifires on the market that most bands you bump through your system, use. JBL is also the ONLY company right now that makes a 6000w amp, which is the worlds most powerful consumer grade car amp on the market. Cookie cutter brand? I don't think so.

But for what your item in the link is at price wise, that's not bad for what it offers.
