01 Yukon XL Lift?

I have a 01 Yukon XL. I want to go move up to a BFG 285 All Terrain Tire. I know that I will need to add a spacer to push the wheel away from the shock mounts, due to increased width. I am also wanting to give my truck a small lift. Someone suggested turning my torsion bars in the front and adding a poly spacers in the rear. Is this the right thing to do, or should does anyone have a better solution. All comments appreciated.

Thanks, A

Re: 01 Yukon XL Lift?

torsion bar turning is ok, I did it, then I wanted more so I got a 6inch lift, i suggest looking into about a 2-3in lift if you only want a lil bit, plus then you could fit like 305s on it, at 6in i can fit 315s. The torsions will only take the front up (no more than level is suggested) about .25 of an inch...
