I have a 1997 Honda Civic LX . I just bought it . I realy like the car . But there must be something wrong with the automatic transmission . When I stick it to the floor in D4 or fourth gear which is the recomended driving gear The car revs up really high and it will not shift WTF!!
If any of you guyz can help me Id appreciate it THANKS!!!!!!

check the tranny fluid first!!!!!!! (no offence) and if its good then try resettting your computer (disconnect the power from your battery for about 5 mins) than take it for a real hard ride .. if its none of the about you might have a screwed up solenoid or maby even a faulty sensor

I think your transmission has failed you, it' going to cost about 2,500 maybe a tab more to have it replaced.

You guys are idiots. Yeah your tranny needs replaced, or you'll be on the side of the road sometime soon. I had the same exact problem in a 94 Talon and it finally broke, about 2 months after the problem started.
You can buy an automatic junkyard tranny in great shape for $300-$500, and a shop will install it for about $150. Go to www.car-part.com and look up the part. It will give a complete list of prices and junkyards close to you. |
