rough acceleration problems
My car has a problem with really jerky acceleration at around 10-12 psi of boost (its a 95 gst) When I accelerate quickly, the boost jumps back and forth about 4 or 5 psi and the car is incredibly jerky in acceleration. This only happens at higher boost levels. I have an aftermarket manual boost controller on it as well as some other things done. The problem however, has been there before and after the other mods. Any suggestions?

Re: rough acceleration problems
I had this same problem, what ended up fixing it was putting new spark plug wires. After I put new ones in , smooth acceleration.

Re: rough acceleration problems
sounds like a boost leak, check all the connections and do a leak test

Re: rough acceleration problems
Sounds exactly like either spark plug wires OR boost leak to me. Tell us what it was.

Re: rough acceleration problems
Joe is right. The symptoms can be the same for both problems. It takes a massive boost leak to cause this condition though, so usually it ends up being ignition related. But its wise to mention both options, not just one.
In adition to wires, get new copper (stock is best) plugs, and be sure to gap them to about .030 in your case. Wires should preferably be stock or NGK, use magnacore at your own risk. I wouldnt use anything else on my car for what its worth.

Fixed. I replaced the wires and it was a new car. Thanks for the quick responses. I couldn't believe the difference. Thanks again.

Re: rough acceleration problems
Did the wires look normal or did you see the problem right away?

The wires looked totally normal. I checked them over after I took them off and the exterior looked fine. I think I'll cut 'em open and look at them just for fun.
