engine mods

ok im ready for another shot at this. these are some mods that i came up with after some "research"

engine rebuild
Turbo kit
Exhaust system
blow off valve
intercooler
headers and downpipes(whats this)
port(whats this)
fuel pump
boost controller
turbo timer
boost gauge
black C-West body kit (dont know about the C-West part, just looking for a kit that looks something like the one shown at the bottom of the page shown here)
Blue undercar Neons
headlight conversion kit (maybe)
carbon fiber hood with scoop in the middle and gills on sides
lowering springs
shocks
racing tires (x4)
New Mazda emblems (x2)
extra gauges (nitrous, RPM, with shift light, etc.)
electric starter
security alarm
lambo door conversion kit

now are there any other things that i would need to make an FD go? and how much do u think all of this and whatever else i need cost?

Re: engine mods

ok I'll list the "the "dont's"...

-skip the lambo doors(GAY!!!)
-electric starters are cool, I want one too, but don't list it as a mod please
-alarm is good to have but also not a mod
-skip the emblems and just remove them all and get the hoels filled and the paint matched, that way stupid people wont know what kinda car you have
-neons just take more power from your battery, plus they got played out in both fast and furious movies, skip those too

yea that pretty much covers it

I am imagining your talking a 3rd Gen (FD) correct?

engine rebuild (Street port)
Turbo kit - Skip it and use the money to buy a Power Fc and some bigger injectors - Thank me later.
Exhaust system - Yes
blow off valve - Skip it FD's ahve BOV's alread and when you put on a open filter it makes the cool whoosh noise you want.
intercooler - Good, Yes
downpipe(whats this) - Sinular it goes from the turbo to the exhaust you will need a mid pipe too and wrap the down pipe w/ header wrap.
port - See street port above.
fuel pump - Good!!
boost controller - Yes!! This will get you the HP you want.
turbo timer - Waste of money - What happens if something foes wrong w/ your car while it cools down for 4 minutes and your in the store not able to shut it down in a hurry. Sit in car and cool it down its part of the fun.
boost gauge - Yes no boost guage is like driving blind.
black C-West body kit (dont know about the C-West part, just looking for a kit that looks something like the one shown at the bottom of the page shown here) - No my style but whatever floats your boat.
Blue undercar Neons - NO! Played and tired.
headlight conversion kit (maybe) - Expensive as hell spend it on the rebuild it will be money better spent.
carbon fiber hood with scoop in the middle and gills on sides - Sure it will help keep uunderhood temps down.
lowering springs - Coil overs would be better.
shocks - Yes DOnt forget a good fron swaybar too.
racing tires (x4) - Get a nice set of rims and street tires. Mount a set of Kumho Victoracer 245/45/16 tires on the stockers for the canyon runs then you will throw away the nice rims after you drive on the "true" race tires.
New Mazda emblems (x2) - Debadge.
extra gauges (nitrous, RPM, with shift light, etc.) Skip the NOS just get a Power FC and tune spend the NOS money on Dyno time to make sure she is tuned correct.
electric starter - Wha???
security alarm - Yes after you spend 15-20K on you car you dont wan tit stolen.
lambo door conversion kit- Please Please Please NO!!!

Like I mentioned before A Power FC is an awesome Mod. It will give you the ability to tune your timing anf fuel. Paired w/ some bigger Secondary injectors and you should be able to see mid to high 300's to the wheels on the stock Turbo's.

Good Luck and dont rice it out or I will hunt you down w/ my RX-7 friends and take it away from you.

Re: engine mods

you could find info for all that if you researched it, but anyways...
BOV(Blow Off Valve)-releases the extra air
Injectors(fuel Injectors)-injects fuel into the engine(sort of self explanitory)
street port(making the intake and exhaust ports larger(research it)
swaybar(the cool little bar that goes from the left to right that is over the engine, you might see a chrome one on fast and furious I'm sure)

well take a weeks off of work and learn a little about cars and do A LOT of research before you expect to be joe-cool with a 10 second car, it aint as easy as the movies make it seem

Re: engine mods

No. go back and re-read my first post to you. I say yeas or comment on the things that are good choices.

All you need to know about the power FC SR Motorsports is top notch you cannot go wrong buying from them. This should be your First Mod.
http://www.srmotorsports.com/sr93ecu.html

BOV - Blow off valve FD's have them from factory they bleed off boost when you release the throttle so the turbos stay spooled up and ready for action when you hit the gas again.

Street Port - is done when you rebuild the engine (smart move BTW) they simply open up the ports more for better airflow and more power typically you'll see a 15% gain in HP from this mod alone.

Injectors - RX-7's have 4 injectors 2 for each rotor. Primaries are usually smaller (550cc in an FD) and do the low end work. The secondaries are typically replaced with larger ones. I would suggest getting 1200-1300cc secondaries they will help support 500RWHP if needed. You can actually sendout your secondaries and have them bored out bigger. You may as well send the primaries too and have them cleaned and tested to make sure they all work right.

Swaybar - all cars have them they do just what the name implies. they keep your car from swaying or limit body roll. This helps in handling. A good stiff front sway bar helps a lot.

Start here:

Good luck!! Welcome to the world of Rotary cars. I give you props for being savy enough to look into the mighty rotary engine. Its our 1.3 litre secret for kicking big V-8 ass.
