Re: How to install Reverse Glow Gauges? (overlaps)

Take out your gauge cluster and take it apart

Put the new gauge faces overtop the stock ones

Route the dangling gaugeface wires through the back of the cluster and pop the clear plastic cover back on

Zip tie the black box onto something behind where the cluster goes, like on a large wire or piece of metal back there

You can do this part many ways, but here's how I did it. I took the red and black wires, grounded the black one under a bolt going into metal. I took the red one and wrapped it around a fuse prong for the dash lights. (you can do it for parking lights, cig lighter, tail lights, or license plate lights)

Take that long black wire (looks like an xmas tree light stran with a bunch of little clips on it) and plug in all the gauge faces to that. You probably will have extra empty clips, just cover them up with electrical tape.

Turn on your lights and see if they work before screwing everything back in. If they don't, recheck all your connections. It's a pretty straight-foward install, took me like 30 minutes. Let me know how they look, and post pics!

Wink

i've said it before and i'll say it again. what did those gauges cost a good 60....70 bucks? cause mine cost me over 500 bucks. i was lucky enough to have them bubble up afterwards, due to change in temperture and crappy glue, and got to buy a whole new instrument panel for a sweet 400 bucks, ( i wanted the JDM one too, since i had to get a new one, hell i'll just go all out) so if you don't like seeing your speed, tach, oil temp, and how much gas you have, GO FOR IT! but seriously... from experience, reconsider. for your sake
